The Chelannur Service Co-Operative Bank Limited. No F 1242 is a leading Super Grade primary Co-operative bank located at Chelannur in Kozhikode district, Kerala. In the beginning of the last century, co-operative movement was initiated and it played a major role in the social and economic development of the society. In tune with the movement a few co-operative organisations started functioning in Calicut. On 31st July 1946, the Chelannur Thamarassery PCC Society was registered and it started functioning on 6th Aug 1946.

The Chelannur Thamarassery PCC society was converted to Chelannur Thamarassery Service Co-Operative Bank Limited No F 1242 on 16th June 1962. The founder president of the Bank was Sri A K Choyi, an eminent person co-operator of Kerala State. The name of the bank was changed to Chelannur Kakkodi Service Co-Operative Bank Limited. No. F 1242 and to Chelannur Service Co-Operative Bank Limited No. F1242 later on. Today, the area of operations of the bank spreads over Kakkodi and Chelannur villages in Kozhikode District. The head office is situated at the heart of Chelannur in Kozhikode district and at present the bank has a network of 6 branches including Main branch and Evening branch. Now the bank has grown into one of the Super Grade banks in Co-operative sector in Kerala with over 36720 members, Share Capital Rs.3.57 Crores, working Capital Rs. 125 Crores, deposits Rs. 205.68 Crores and Loans of Rs. 152.94 Crores.
